Growing up in a small town in Minnesota, Dr. John Lundgren learned the value of hard work and helping others early on. He attended college at the University of Notre Dame and later earned his dental degree from the University of Minnesota. After finishing school, he joined the United States Navy as a dental officer to serve his country.
Dr. Lundgren served 20 years in the Navy and retired with the rank of Captain. During his military career, he focused on endodontics, the specialty of dentistry dedicated to saving natural teeth. He completed advanced training at the National Naval Medical Center and earned a Master’s degree from George Washington University. Today, he is a Board-Certified Endodontist, meaning he has completed additional testing to demonstrate advanced expertise in treating the inner structures of teeth.
Over his career, Dr. Lundgren has performed a wide range of procedures. He brings that experience to Jacksonville, FL, using advanced tools and modern techniques to make dental visits as comfortable as possible. He always stays up to date with the latest developments in dental care so his patients receive the most modern care possible.
Outside the office, Dr. Lundgren enjoys spending time with his wife, Sonya, and their three children. His daughter, Alex, and son, Jack, are graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy and currently serve in the Navy. His youngest son, J.C., is a busy high school student who enjoys golf and football. Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Lundgren was an All-American golfer at Notre Dame. He brings that same focus and championship mindset to caring for every patient who walks through our doors.
